bullet

For those who missed the Lernerville School bus race night, multi Club event, here is a synopsis of the night's events by Bob Bastone of Skyview Radio society:

"I think it safe to say that everyone had a super inky-dinky time at
Lernerville last night! We had a bumper crop of people. Kristen
finagled a room of our own at Kings for dinner. We about had that
room filled. Then we set off to the races.

The WX was perfect. We all [including Matt P. Troop 891 and Ian N. 891 alumni]
sat in turn 1 and watched the action. School bus races, powder puff
school bus race, a grudge match between two big-block rivals and even
an enduro, Around 71 (basically crap) cars duking it out for 100 laps
with NO YELLOW FLAGS! If you crashed, you just sat out in the track
looking at the rest of the cars coming at you at high rates of speed.
There were car parts flying in all directions! There were a couple
red flags with cars on fire and a roll-over or two. It was too cool.

And don't forget the kids on their bikes and tricycles! Those that
missed it, missed it. Not to fret though. There is another one on
Saturday, September 6th! Plan now..."

As a personal note I can add the School bus races are a blast.  You could see the cherry red hot turbocharger in the diesel powered school bus, Cow Patty with her tail swinging out in the turns and the other busses flying down the straight-a-ways rear ends sliding (yes, a full sized school bus counter steering the turns) I said, sliding in the turns!

The entrance fee is reasonable, discounts for 16 and under.  And the grudge match was phenomenal.  They hit speeds that made my heart jump.  It was quite an experience.

Paul, your Webmaster.
